Thank you for choosing Riley’s Smiley Hounds – Dog Grooming to look after your pet’s grooming needs. Please read the below terms and conditions and sign your agreement. This should be completed before your first appointment and remains valid for all subsequent appointments unless you instruct us otherwise.
Pet’s Health and Care
We commit to treating your pet as if they were our own during their time in our care. We will handle them considerately and work with you to understand any health concerns you may have ahead of grooming.
We commit to providing you with lots of support and guidance on how to look after your pets’ coat health and condition at home.
We commit to letting you know if we suspect or detect any health issues during grooming.
We commit to prioritising your pets safety whilst in our care.
We commit to seeking veterinarian care or advice in the event of serious injury or illness.
You commit to ensuring your dog is fit and well when they come for their appointment and that they are in receipt of proper veterinary care.
You accept that pets being brought to the groomers are done so at the owners own risk and that the groomer is not liable for exposing underlying health conditions through the grooming process.
You accept that in the event of injury or illness a vet may be called and, unless we are liable, all costs in connection with and in the carrying out of this instruction shall be at the owner’s expense. We are fully insured up to £100,000 in the event that the liability is ours.
You commit to informing us in advance of your appointment if your female dog is in season and we need to avoid contact with uncastrated males.
Matting
We commit to informing you as soon as possible if we discover excess matting during the grooming process that must be treated with a full shave down. We will seek your permission to do this before proceeding.
You accept that this will drastically change the appearance of your dog whilst new fur grows through and that clipper rash may occur or underlying skin complaints may be exacerbated following the process and that we will not be held liable for this.
You accept that an additional fee may be payable in cases of extreme matting due to the additional time required to sensitively shave the dog with its comfort and safety as a priority.
Appointments
We commit to being open and ready to groom your pet when you arrive.
We commit to letting you know as soon as possible if your appointment needs to be moved or cancelled.
We commit to sending appointment reminders via text or email to let you know when you have an upcoming appointment.
We commit to giving you a guide price for your appointment following a consultation. Our final pricing will be given at the end of the groom based on the pet’s condition and behaviour and the time in which it has taken to complete the groom. We will always consult you should something occur during the groom that would significantly impact the guide price we have quoted.
You commit to your appointment by paying a deposit at the time of booking and understand that appointments are not secured until the deposit payment has been received by us. Your deposit can be taken off the final bill for your pet’s treatment or carried over to a following appointment(s).
You commit to providing at least 48 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment and accept that should cancellations or reschedules be made with less than 48 hours notice, your deposit will be forfeit. You understand that reschedules will not always be available close to your original scheduled appointment.
You commit to having the funds available in either cash or card form, when you collect your dog at the end of your appointment. We do not accept cheques.
Safety
We reserve the right to terminate an appointment at any time should an animal present a risk to itself, another animal or a member of staff.
You commit to being honest with us about any behavioural issues your are aware of with your dog and for informing us of any out of character behaviour at the start of each appointment.
Social Media
We’d like your permission to share pictures of your pet on our social media and websites. We will never identify your pet or sell pictures.
